Atkins Middle School Choirs

Beginning Treble Choirs (Treble & Tenor-Bass, 2nd & 6th period)- In this beginning choir, students will learn and be able to demonstrate proper choral singing techniques, concert etiquette, and sight reading music. All students will be encouraged to participate in Solo & Ensemble, and will perform at the Irons Invitational Music Festival (subject to change due to Covid-19). All Beginning Choir members are required to participate in the Fall, Winter, Pre-UIL, and Pops Concerts.

Concert Treble Choir (7th period) - is an intermediate choir for female singers. These students will be able to demonstrate proper choral singing techniques, concert etiquette, and sight reading music with a higher level of expectation. Concert Treble members are encouraged to audition for All-Region, as well as Solo & Ensemble. They will be participating in UIL (subject to change due to Covid-19). All Concert Treble Treble members are required to participate in the Fall, Winter, Pre- UIL and Pops Concerts.

Tornado Tenor-Bass Choir (4th period)- is a combined intermediate and advanced choir for male singers. These students will be able to demonstrate proper choral singing techniques, concert etiquette, and sight reading music with a higher level of expectation. Tornado Tenor-Bass Choir members are encouraged to audition for All-Region, as well as Solo & Ensemble. This choir will participate at UIL Concert/Sightreading Contest (subject to change due to Covid-19). Tornado Tenor-Bass Choir members participating at UIL and other festivals must abide by the state eligibility guidelines and demonstrate acceptable character and citizenship throughout the school year. All Tornado Tenor-Bass Choir members are required to participate in the Fall, Winter, Pre- UIL and Pops Concerts.

Select Treble Choir (1st period)- is an advanced choir for 7th & 8th grade female singers. Select Treble singers are selected based on their musicianship, leadership, and ability to maintain passing grades. These students will be able to demonstrate proper choral singing techniques, concert etiquette, and sight reading music with an advanced level of expectation. All Select Treble members are strongly encouraged to audition for All-Region, as well as Solo & Ensemble. Varsity will participate at UIL Concert/Sightreading Contest (subject to change due to Covid-19). Varsity members participating at UIL events must abide by the state eligibility guidelines and demonstrate acceptable character and citizenship throughout the school year. All Varsity members are required to participate in the Fall, Winter, Pre- UIL and Pops Concerts.
